Massimiliano Romanelli: Leadership and vision at the helm of SPARX Logistics Italy

On this occasion we spoke with Massimiliano Romanelli, the new Country Manager of SPARX Logistics Italy, who has almost three decades in the logistics sector and recently joined to lead a key stage of growth and transformation in the Italian market.


1.- Massimiliano, with your almost 30 years of experience in the logistics sector, what does it mean to you to join SPARX at this point in your career?


For me, joining SPARX represents a great opportunity. After almost three decades in the industry, I remain convinced that logistics is built on two fundamental pillars: innovation and the value of people. SPARX is a dynamic company, with a global vision and a strong commitment to excellence, qualities that inspire me and that fit with my way of seeing the business.


Being part of this project excites me because it allows me to contribute my experience and, at the same time, join an organization that is committed to growing intelligently and sustainably. Italy is a market in which I have worked for several years and which I know thoroughly. I am convinced that my background can provide a strategic perspective that supports the growth of the company in this stage of transformation.

 

2.- You have worked in renowned companies in logistics. What key learnings do you take with you to this new stage?


Throughout my career I have understood that logistics goes far beyond moving goods from one point to another. It's about anticipating customer needs, building trust in every operation, and designing smart solutions that add true value. In an environment as dynamic and competitive as the current one, the key is in the ability to adapt quickly and, above all, to always be one step ahead to guarantee a quality and reliable service.


Every professional experience has reaffirmed to me that it is the small details that make the difference. Punctuality, accuracy, and effective communication are all factors that define the success of a logistics operation. Over time I have confirmed that true strength lies not only in infrastructure or resources, but in the ability to react with agility to market changes, transforming challenges into opportunities to grow and offer a superior service.

 

3.- What attracted you most to SPARX to take this step?


What motivated me to join SPARX was the opportunity to take on a new challenge in my career. After so many years in the industry, I felt that it was the ideal time to put my experience at the service of an organization that is going through a relevant transformation stage. Being part of this process represents a valuable opportunity for me to contribute my knowledge and, at the same time, continue learning in a dynamic environment.


On a personal level, this step also means a challenge that drives me to continue growing. I have always believed that, beyond professional achievements, what really leaves a mark are the people with whom we share the journey. Joining an international team like SPARX inspires me to give my best, not only as a professional, but also as a human being.

 

4.- What is your vision for SPARX Italy in the short and medium term?


My main objective is to consolidate SPARX's presence in the Italian market, reinforcing the trust of our current customers and, at the same time, developing new business opportunities that drive our growth in the region.


Italy occupies a strategic role in international trade, both because of its geographical location and because of the diversity of products it exports to the world. My vision is for SPARX to be recognized in this country as a benchmark in innovation, quality of service and logistics solutions adapted to the needs of each customer.

 

5.- How do you see Italy's role within the global SPARX network? 


Italy is a natural bridge between Europe, Asia and America, which makes it a strategic point within international trade. Our goal is to leverage this privileged position to efficiently connect customers to major global routes and consolidate Italy as a key hub within SPARX's international network.


At the same time, we seek to facilitate the movement of goods and make the most of the resources and advantages that the country offers. With the support of our new services, we want to provide solutions that strengthen the competitiveness of our customers and contribute to the growth of the operation in Italy.

 

6.- With your experience, what do you think customers are looking for in a logistics partner today?


Customers are looking for trust, transparency, and solutions that truly fit their needs. In the current context, they do not expect just a logistics provider, but a strategic partner that offers them real-time visibility and efficient and sustainable options.


What they need is to simplify the complexity of their logistics chain so they can focus on what matters most: growing their business. Our role is precisely to accompany them in this process, providing security and efficiency at each stage.

 

7.- Do you have any message for SPARX customers and partners in Italy and around the world?


My message is clear: we are here to accompany our customers, grow together with them and offer a service that combines experience, innovation and proximity. Every deal has our total commitment and the dedication of a team that understands the importance of building trust at every step.


We work backed by a long history in the industry, but also driven by the integration of new technologies that allow us to be more accurate, transparent and efficient. That combination of knowledge and modernization is the foundation on which we will build the future of SPARX in Italy.

 

8.- After so many years of experience, what motivates you personally in this new stage at SPARX?


What motivates me the most is the possibility of continuing to learn and to share what I have acquired in all these years. Logistics has given me a lot: unique experiences, the opportunity to work with people from different cultures and, above all, the pride of seeing how good service has a direct impact on business and people's lives.


At SPARX I find the opportunity to combine my professional experience with my personal values: closeness, teamwork and a vision of growth that is not only measured in numbers, but also in the quality of the relationships we build day by day.


His story reflects how experience, combined with passion and vision, can open up new opportunities to transform logistics. Beyond the challenges of the market, Massimiliano reminds us that the real driving force of this sector is the people and the trust they generate in each operation.
